In short
- We use analytics cookies only, from Google Analytics.
- We do not use advertising cookies.
- Your favorites live in session storage and vanish when you close the tab.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device when you visit. They help a site remember information, and they can be used to measure how a site is used. Some similar technologies, such as session storage, work in a comparable way but are kept by your browser rather than sent with every request.
How we use cookies
Baby Name Combiner uses a small number of cookies, and only for analytics. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to track you across other websites. The cookies below are set by the Google Analytics tag on our pages.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics (first party) | Distinguishes one visitor from another so visits can be counted | Up to 2 years |
_ga_FCYY4M196C | Google Analytics (first party) | Keeps track of the current session | Up to 2 years |
Durations are the defaults set by Google and may change. Cookie names can vary slightly if Google updates its product.
Browser storage used by the tool
When you press the star on a result, the name is kept in your browser’s session storage so your favorites list works. It stays in your current tab, is never sent to us, and disappears when you close the tab or press “Clear.” The names you type into the tool are not stored at all.
How to manage or block cookies
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Look for “Privacy” or “Cookies” in your browser’s settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you from using the tool.
- Google Analytics opt-out. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop your visits being measured.
- Private browsing. Cookies set in a private window are removed when you close it.

Third parties and future changes
Google processes analytics data under its own Privacy Policy. If we add advertising or other services that use cookies, we will update this page first and list each provider and how to opt out.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies changes. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version.
